本論文之研究內容主要是液晶顯示器背光模組之研製，其中提供液晶顯示器背光源的發光元件，本論文採用冷陰極管作為液晶顯示器的背光源所需之元件。而冷陰極管的驅動方式是以高壓方式啟動，所以需要依賴一組換流器電路產生高壓作為冷陰極管的啟動電壓，而產生高壓方式在這是使用半橋式換流器的電路架構作轉換，以提供冷陰極管所需的啟動電壓。除此之外還要一組轉換器電路將輸入交流轉換直流輸出的電路來提供半橋式換流器所需之工作電壓。然而，為了提供冷陰極管所需直流電源，需要一個轉換器將交流電源轉換為半橋換流器所需的工作電壓。這個轉換器是利用返馳式電路架構實現。最後，此背光模組是以硬體設計而達到控制背光源冷陰極管高壓點燈、亮度

本文以針對液晶顯示器背光源之多相驅動器研製為主，因此，驅動冷陰極螢光燈管之驅動器可說是本文的重點所在。液晶顯示器目前的趨勢是朝向大尺寸的方向發展，所以為了維持背光源的均勻度與高亮度，多燈管的背光源是不可或缺的。因此大尺寸液晶顯示器所需的背光源驅動器數量亦隨之增加，然而多組背光源驅動器所造成的輸入電流漣波也亦隨之增加。故本文之背光源驅動器將採用多相的驅動技術，來降低輸入電流漣波所產生的干擾，以延長液晶顯示器的使用壽命，並且可維持高穩定度的系統操作模式。此外，當燈管裝進液晶顯示器中時，不可避免的在燈管與屏壁之間和燈管與燈管之間，會有許多雜散電容，這些雜散電容會影響到燈管發光效率，導致背光源的不均

勻。以本文所提之多相驅動方式，再配合多繞組均流變壓器使用，即可達到光源均勻之目的，確保液晶顯示器顯示畫面的品質。
