このたびニコンより発表となったFXフォーマットのフラッグシップミーラーレスカメラ Nikon Z9 （発表時表記 ニコン Z 9）筐体について、報道資料の写真を見ながらのカメラトークです。

他の角度の画像（レンダリング？）などを見る限りだと、縦グリップはあまり気にならないほど小さいのかもしれませんね。

【今回のトーク内容としては……】
Nikon Z9 報道資料からの写真では、縦グリップが一体型に見えますがミラーレスのメリットの一つは小型化だったはず。
過去に、ベストバランスを標榜するオリンパスが OM-D E-M1X という縦グリップ一体型のマイクロフォーサーズ機を発売して一部で反発がありました。先月、ソニーが満を持して発表したフラッグシップ機 SONY α1 は従来通りα7やα9を踏襲した小柄な筐体でした。
一時期、フルサイズミラーレスのレンズは大型で高性能なものが増えつつありましたが、最近のSIGMAやSONYの製品を見る限りではどうやら大口径のレンズでも鏡筒サイズが小型化していく傾向にあるようです。その裏には、光学性能で解決するだけではなく、デジタル補正も含めて小型化していくのが現在のトレンドが見え隠れしています。
いまや映像制作に欠かせないオプションであるジンバルやドローンへの搭載も見越しての小型・軽量化も望まれているのでは？電子基盤やバッテリーは小型化しにくい面もあるでしょうから、デジタル一眼レフ時代と同じく縦グリップでスペースを確保するというのも手だとは思いますが……
ちなみに富士フイルムでは GFX100 → GFX100S という形で縦グリップ一体型ではなくなった例も。
