隨著全球化進程的不斷推進，各國間的經濟、文化都在進行深入的交流，在國與國之間的頻繁往來中往往會夾帶異質的文化和價值理念，無形中對他國造成影響，文化的傳播已經成為增強國家軟實力的重要手段。而在當代以視覺為主導的社會中，文化軟實力的傳播與滲透更多的會倚仗於視聽語言，動畫電影作為文化產品的重要組成部分，更易於傳播，且受眾廣泛，不只承載了青少年的文化啟蒙，更是在潛移默化中影響著人們的思想意識和文化價值觀念，因此其蘊含的權力話語和文化霸權不容忽視。美國作為動畫領域領先國家，其文化與意識形態也隨著動畫電影的放映在全世界進行傳播，在影片中甚至以異化“他者”的方式進行文化滲透，因此本研究將中美兩國中國題材動
畫電影作為研究對象，以後殖民主義的視角，將動畫電影作為文本進行分析，運用敘事學和結構語義學的相關方法，探尋了美國動畫電影文本背後所隱藏的文化權力關係，以及在動畫電影文本中對“他者”和“自我”身份建構的方式和目的。同時認清中國動畫電影文本中存在的問題和差距，提出了當前中國動畫電影的自我文化身份認同可以從紮根傳統文化建構自我和在第三空間中與異質文化平等協商兩個維度進行的發展路徑，以期可以為中國動畫電影未來的創作與發展提供理論參考。
