本研究中,我們採用的實驗光源是綠光雷射。為了得到光強度分布平坦均勻的光束,我們首先讓雷射光通過半波片、經極化分光鏡反射後,再通過旋轉的擴散板,將雷射光源轉變為部分非同調的光源,接著再以準直物鏡收光並以成像物鏡聚焦後打至多模光纖端面,穿透光在光纖核心中傳遞,到達光纖末端接觸到介質後,部分光會由光纖端面反射回光纖輸入端並穿透出去,而原先打至光纖輸入端的光也會部分反射,這些光由測量光纖截面反射影像的攝影機接收後,便可讓我們利用光束波形擷取電腦軟體進行光纖影像的觀測與記錄。接著將數據資料透過電腦程式做處理分析,便可用來探討光纖輸入端截面反射影像與光纖末端介質折射率之間的關係。由實驗量測分析結果我們可

以發現,縮短低同調轉換雷射光源從擴散板出來傳播到光纖的距離,可以讓打在光纖上的光束變大、變平坦均勻,並改善光纖影像中纖核與纖殼的反射光強度分布原本會呈現坡度變化的趨勢之問題。實驗中雷射光功率不穩定時,我們利用扣減背景光以及將光纖影像纖殼部分取的光強度平均值對原始數據做歸一化處理,便可以規避掉雷射光源不穩定的影響。經過改善數據處理分析方法後,我們也發現當利用低同調轉換雷射光源測量光纖影像時,若光纖長度越短,歸一化後的纖核反射光強度,會達到與理論預測值更相近的結果,且折射率感測的靈敏度也會越大。因此若要能確實達到利用光纖截面反射影像的變化來回推光纖末端介質折射率的變化,以上條件缺一不可。
